— Clear pricing, no surprises

What do our caravan air conditioning services cost?

Supply & Installation

Install pricing varies because no two caravans or setups are the same. As a guide, supply and installation starts from $2,800. The final price depends on the brand you choose, the size of the air conditioner, how your caravan is built, and how complex the installation is. Once we know your setup, we’ll talk you through the options and give you a clear price before any work starts.

Repairs & Diagnosis

Repairs are charged at a $120 call-out fee, plus $120 per hour. This covers diagnosis, testing, and the repair work itself. Some issues are quick fixes, others take longer, but we’ll always explain what’s involved and get approval before continuing.

Cleaning & Maintenance

Cleaning and maintenance starts from $260. The exact price depends on the condition of the unit and how much work is required. A proper clean improves performance, reduces smells, and helps prevent bigger issues down the track.

Phone Advice

You’re welcome to call us for advice, and there’s no charge for that. We’re always happy to help where we can. That said, if giving advice over the phone could put you, your caravan, or anyone else at risk, we won’t guide you through it remotely. In those cases, we’ll recommend an on-site visit so the issue can be handled safely and properly.

The History Behind Queens Park

Queens Park on Milford Street was added to the Queensland Heritage Register in 2002. The central section was granted as a reserve in 1858 for a botanic garden and public recreation, and the park was built from around 1864 onward. The grounds hold formal garden beds, a bush house, and Nerima Gardens, a Japanese-styled garden whose first stage opened in 2001 to mark Ipswich’s sister city relationship with Nerima in Japan. The Ipswich Nature Centre has displayed animals on the site since 1936.

Dining in the Nicholas Street Precinct

Nicholas Street and the surrounding Ipswich CBD were redeveloped into a dining and retail precinct. Venues there serve Australian, Japanese, Italian, Mexican, Indian, Chinese and Vietnamese food, including Kickin’Inn for seafood boil, That Dumpling Place, Bun Bun Bao, Sushi Hyo, Vapiano and Hello Harry. Zambrero and Gelatissimo sit alongside them, and Stellarossa opens early for coffee. Most of it runs through the day, so it works for a lunch stop as much as an evening one

The Crossing on the Brisbane River at Chuwar

Colleges Crossing Recreation Reserve sits on the Brisbane River at Chuwar and is run by Ipswich City Council. The crossing takes its name from George College, an early settler who bought land on the northern side of the river in 1854, and the current low level bridge opened in 1894. The reserve opened in 1993, and the parish name Chuwar dates to 1848, given by colonial surveyor James Warner.

Queensland Museum Rail Workshops at North Ipswich

The Queensland Museum Rail Workshops sits within the North Ipswich Railway Workshops, the oldest continuously operating railway workshop in Australia. The original workshops began in 1864, and Queensland’s first railway ran from Ipswich to Grandchester on 31 July 1865. Operations moved to the current site from the mid 1880s. The complex was added to the Queensland Heritage Register in 1997 and the museum opened in August 2002. It holds the oldest working locomotive in Australia and Queensland’s largest model railway.

Evening Dining in the Nicholas Street Precinct

Nicholas Street holds several venues that run into the evening. Hotel Commonwealth is a 19th century Ipswich pub that reopened after a heritage restoration. General Public pairs a food menu with fourteen tenpin bowling lanes, arcade games, golf simulators and pool tables. The Rusty Nail serves small plates, cocktails and wine. Outdoor dining runs through Tulmur Walk and the Venue Building, and the precinct sits in the Ipswich CBD so it is walkable from one end to the other.

Jacaranda Blooms Across Ipswich

Jacarandas across Ipswich flower from October through November. The largest concentration is at Goodna, where trees along Brisbane Terrace were planted by work gangs in the 1930s during the Great Depression. A plaque marking 90 years since the planting was unveiled in October 2022. Ipswich City Council has planted replacement and additional trees at Evan Marginson Park, Kippen Park, Leslie Park, Warren Park and Richardson Park. The Goodna Jacaranda Festival is held at the end of October each year beneath the trees.

Art and History at the Old Town Hall

The Ipswich Art Gallery sits in d’Arcy Doyle Place, a pedestrian section of Nicholas Street between Brisbane and Limestone Streets. The heritage-listed building opened in 1861 as the Mechanics’ School of Arts and became the Ipswich Town Hall by 1869, hosting a gala dinner for the Prince of Wales in 1920 and wartime dances in the 1940s. It was renovated and extended in 1999. Admission is free unless stated otherwise.

Bushwalks at Denmark Hill

Denmark Hill Conservation Reserve covers about 11 hectares of bushland within walking distance of Ipswich Central, with entrances off Deebing Street and Quarry Street. Five short tracks run through it, from the 60 metre Waterfall Track to the 800 metre Water Tower Circuit. The Triassic Circuit marks the hill’s history as a fossil site after plant and insect remains were found there in the late 1800s. Access to the top of the water tower is closed indefinitely.

Frequently Asked Questions

Which areas of Ipswich do you travel to?

We travel right across the Ipswich region, from Goodna and Springfield Lakes, through Redbank Plains, Bundamba, and Booval, to Yamanto, Ripley, and Rosewood. If your suburb is not on our list, send us a message and we will let you know. We operate Monday to Friday.

Can you install a new air con on an older caravan?

Usually, yes. Older vans can be straightforward or they can throw up surprises, depending on how the roof is built, what the existing opening looks like, and what wiring is already there. We assess the van first, tell you what is involved, then recommend an air con that suits it before any work starts.

Will you give me a price before starting work?

Yes. Once we know your setup, we talk you through the options and give you a clear price before any work begins. On repairs, if the job turns out to be more involved than first thought, we explain what we have found and get your approval before continuing. Nothing goes ahead unquoted.

What causes a caravan air con to smell musty?

Usually moisture sitting in the system combined with dust and grime built up on the filters and coils. Vans that spend long stretches parked up are the most prone to it, since there is no airflow to dry things out. A proper clean strips the build-up back and clears the smell at its source.

What size air con does my caravan need?

It depends on the length of the van, how well it is insulated, how many windows it has, and where you tend to travel. Undersizing means it runs flat out and never quite catches up. Oversizing wastes power and cycles too often. We look at your van and work it out from there.
